| Voting for the Choral Booster Board will take place next month, May 8th. If anyone has any questions or would like to attend, please feel free to come and sit in on the meeting at 7pm. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR CHOIRS! AT THE HANOVER/LEE DAVIS FESTIVAL OF CHOIRS: Vivace placed 3rd in the Woman's Chamber Division! The Chamber Ensemble placed 2nd in the Mixed Chamber Division with BEST MALE SOLOIST: Austin Smith! Rhapsody placed First Place and were GRAND CHAMPIONS in Women's A Division with Best Show Design, Best Choregraphy, and Best Vocals! Spotlight placed First Place and were GRAND CHAMPIONS in the Mixed A Division with Best Show Design, Best Band and Best Vocals! AT AMHERST: Rhapsody placed 1st Place in their division and were 1st Runner's Up Overall! | The objective of the choral program is to enable students to enjoy the thrill of performing while receiving a well- rounded choral education. Cosby High School is proud to offer courses to sudents of all levels of experience, ability and showmanship. |
| A Note from Mrs. Andre and Mrs. Ripley |
| Congratulations on joining the Cosby High School Choral Department! By joining a chorus class, you will now have the opportunity to learn and experience the excitement of singing in a choral setting. As a student, you are an incredibly valuable member of the department. Everyone has the opportunity to make an impact on not only the sound, but also the success of each choir. To be in a choir is to joing a team of people using their natural talents to reach a goal of expressing and performing music. In order to have a successful team, each member must put forth equal effort to reach the goals of the group. Therefore, each student is expected to be active, intelligent, and to contribute in class. This year, we will continue to create the foundation for a long-standing tradition of excellence in the Cosby Choral Department. We must all work together to establish a high standard of musicianship, academic and choral excellence. We look forward to working with you and sharing the pleasure and fulfillment of creating and performing music together. The Cosby Choral Department would like to welcome Mrs. Peggy Ripley, director of Vivace! Mrs. Ripley is joining us from a long-standing tradition of excellence in music at James River High School. We are very fortunate to have her on our team. Welcome Mrs. Ripley! |
